Some Scottish wedding venues are simply a backdrop. The Rotunda is a Glasgow landmark, made yours.
Crowning the banks of the Clyde since the 1890s, the Category B listed building was once the gateway to Glasgow's harbour tunnels, now reimagined as one of the city’s most striking spaces for a wedding.
Exchanging vows beneath the original glass cupola and encircled by 360-degree skylights, you’ll say ‘I do’ surrounded by those you love, in a setting as extraordinary as the day itself, a setting no other Glasgow wedding venue can offer.

Long before it held a single wedding, The Rotunda held Glasgow's history. Built in the Victorian era as one of two entrances to the city's harbour tunnel, it once carried people and goods beneath the Clyde, a feat of engineering that helped the city move forward.
Now, it's been reimagined to move people in an entirely different way. We believe the big moments deserve more than ordinary, which is why the domed interior hasn’t just been preserved, but given new purpose. The original cupola still crowns the room 12 metres above the floor, and ringed skylights bring in a scale and quality of light that few Scottish wedding venues can rival.
Located in the Finnieston Quarter, beside the SEC and OVO Hydro, The Rotunda is easy for guests to reach, and the Radisson RED hotel is just steps away for those who wish to stay the night.
Say “I do” in the round
In most wedding venues, guests watch the ceremony from rows. Here, the circular space allows for the two of you to stand right at the heart of the room, with family and friends gathered on every side and close enough to catch every word. The space allows for traditional aisle layouts, too.
Make the day unmistakably yours
Something to look up to
A ceiling winch beneath the dome can hold a cloud of suspended florals for the vows and a disco ball for dancing later in the evening.
Light with feeling
Programmable lighting moves with the day, soft and golden for the ceremony and louder once the dance floor opens.
No moment missed
Five 100-inch screens can show photos of the two of you over the years, put the speeches up close, or stream the day to anyone who can’t be there.
Food with heart
A kitchen dedicated to your wedding alone, with menus built around the food you love and every guest's dietary needs met without fuss.
From ceremony to celebration on the banks of the Clyde
Up to 180 guests can take their seats beneath the dome for your ceremony. Once your vows are spoken, head down to the terrace for drinks with the Clyde and Finnieston Crane in the background. From there, the room above is quietly turned around to reveal a dining space with the skyline beginning to glow outside as evening draws in.
After dessert has been served, the room is reset once more and the night gathers its own momentum until it's time to take the floor with the people who matter most.
Somewhere between the first toast and the last dance, this stops being a wedding and becomes the wedding, the one that everyone remembers.

How far in advance should we book our wedding at The Rotunda?
Most couples book their wedding venue 12 to 18 months in advance. As The Rotunda is one of Glasgow's newest wedding venues, Saturdays in spring and summer 2027 will typically be booked up first. Fridays, Sundays and winter dates give you a little more choice, and a winter twilight ceremony under the cupola is something special in its own right. Have a date in mind, or just a season? Tell us early and we'll let you know what's possible before it's gone.
How many guests can The Rotunda hold for a wedding?
The Rotunda seats up to 180 guests for both your ceremony and wedding meal, so the whole celebration takes place under the historic cupola and skylights. Before the meal, guests can step down to the Terrace Bar for a drinks reception with the banks of the Clyde in the background, giving the day a natural pause while the main room is turned around.
How much does The Rotunda cost for a wedding?

For couples drawn to a candlelit winter celebration or an intimate twilight wedding, we also offer a selection of seasonal packages, which our dedicated weddings team will be delighted to talk you through. The final cost will reflect your chosen date, guest count, catering and bar choices, and any finishing touches you add. What kind of wedding ceremony can we have?
Whether you are planning a civil, humanist or religious ceremony, The Rotunda is ready to welcome you. Scottish law lets you marry almost anywhere, provided your registrar or celebrant agrees, so you’re free to create a ceremony that feels truly personal to you both. You could exchange vows in the round, with loved ones gathered on every side, or keep to tradition with a classic aisle leading you to each other.
Can we have a twilight wedding at The Rotunda?
Yes, you can have a twilight wedding at the Rotunda, the building was practically made for it. Under 360-degree skylights, a twilight ceremony in Glasgow comes with its own light show: sunset above you, the city glowing below. Between October and February the sun sets in the late afternoon (around 4pm in December), so a twilight ceremony catches it perfectly. In summer the light lasts until around 10pm, and the evening plays out in a long golden glow. Tell us your date and we’ll time the day around it.
Can The Rotunda be hired as an exclusive-use wedding venue?
The Rotunda can be hired as an exclusive-use wedding venue from the first guest’s arrival to the last song of the night. For the whole day, it becomes a world of your own, with Glasgow all around you. Exclusive use is available on request, and our weddings team would love to talk you through the details and prepare a proposal designed around your celebrations.
Do you have in-house wedding catering?
Yes. Our in-house team caters every wedding at The Rotunda, from canapés on the terrace to the evening meal. Once you've booked, you'll sit down with our chef for a menu tasting, so you can shape every course before the day.
Just tell us about any dietary requirements or allergies when you confirm your numbers. We can cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal and other needs.
Can we bring our own wedding suppliers?
We’re happy to share our recommended suppliers. They are photographers, florists, bands and planners who already know how to make the most of the building.
Where is The Rotunda, and is there accommodation nearby?
